Changes to McMaster VPN Client

UTS is updating the VPN service to enhance security and prepare for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), which will be introduced in mid-October. Before this, there will be changes to the VPN profiles in the client’s drop-down menu.
Important updates to note in Cisco Secure Client. These changes will take effect on the morning of September 26, 2024:
- The Cisco AnyConnect VPN client has been updated and renamed to Cisco Secure Client. This version, which has the same functionality and appearance, is available for download on the McMaster UTS website. While you are not required to install the new client currently, it is available if you choose to do so.
- VPN profile Connect from MacConnect is no longer required. Those using this profile must change to Connect From Home which offers the same functionality. Please use this profile from now on.
- On September 26, 2024, users must select a profile from the drop-down menu after connecting to the VPN. The client will remember your last profile, so you only need to do this once.
