Reminder: Run the latest Zoom app updates

Zoom has recently identified several security vulnerabilities in its client apps, specifically impacting Zoom Rooms and the Zoom Windows app. For detailed information regarding these vulnerabilities, you can refer to https://explore.zoom.us/en/trust/security/security-bulletin/
To address these high-severity vulnerabilities, it is crucial for all Zoom users to update their Zoom app to the latest version of 5.15.5. This latest version contains patches to mitigate these vulnerabilities and ensure a more secure experience. UTS scheduled an update on August 10th.
The next time you log into your Zoom after August 10th, you may be prompted to install the updates prior to using the app if the current version is below the min. Please take this into consideration and give yourself enough time to run the update before starting or joining a meeting.
How to update Zoom:
- Sign in to Zoom desktop client.
- Click your profile picture then click Check for Updates.
If there is a newer version, Zoom will download and install it.
If your device is a managed device, you will not see ‘Check for Updates’. If this is the case, contact your local IT support to update Zoom for you.
Aug 10th minimum client version update:
- Windows: 5.15.5
- Mac: 5.15.5
- Linux: 5.15.5
- Android: 5.15.5
Note: if you use a Zoom link in a browser, no update is necessary.
