Kick off this Winter Term the right way: Here’s how UTS can help
McMaster University Technology Services (UTS) is keen to provide students, faculty, and staff with the best McMaster IT experience. Accessing IT help and requesting IT services is now easier than ever. Depending on your request, there are various ways to seek assistance.
HOW TO GET IT SUPPORT
Live Chat and Chat Bot
Utilizing the live chat and chat bot on UTS website is the easiest and fastest way to get IT help. The UTS chat bot can answer general inquiries 24/7 and it can connect you with a UTS service desk employee during working hours if needed.
Winter term live chat working hours:
- Monday – Thursday | 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Friday | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
In-person Support
Should you require in-person support, you can join a virtual line during UTS Service Desk in-person hours. After joining the line, you will know your estimated wait time and will receive a text message when it’s your turn. It’s that simple!
There are two ways to join the line:
- From your mobile device: Text your name to (289) 273-5877
- From the link on our website. Fill out the form.
Winter term in-person support working hours:
- Monday – Friday | 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Self-Service
This option is the best for complex IT issues. You can explore the core services provided by UTS on our website. To request assistance with issues related to these services, you can log a ticket MacServiceDesk and UTS professionals will take it from there.
Reminder: It is always recommended to use Live chat for simple IT issues rather than submitting a service request so that you can get the help you need instantly.
Visit the UTS Contact Us webpage for more information on how to get the support you need.
