Microsoft Storage Limits

What You Need to Know

New Microsoft storage limits will be implemented at McMaster in Fall 2025, at the earliest. Community members are encouraged to adhere to the individual storage limits below as it will ease the transition when the limits are implemented.

Our need to manage McMaster’s use of storage within Microsoft has occurred because of Microsoft’s introduction of a new set of global storage limits for academic license agreements, impacting all universities and colleges around the world.

POI (Person of Interest): An individual who is not in the employ of McMaster and requires access to university systems in order to carry on collaboration with the university.
Role-based Accounts: An account not specifically assigned to a named individual, but rather a role, department or event is considered a role based account.
