Campus phone system unavailable January 3 for scheduled maintenance

The university’s campus phone system (Avaya) will experience intermittent outages on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. due to scheduled maintenance. Phone service will be unavailable at various times throughout this window as the upgrade is completed.
During the outages, all inbound and outbound calling will be unavailable, voicemail will not function and elevator emergency phones will be offline.
For emergencies, Campus Safety can always be reached at 905-522-4135. This line will remain operational throughout the maintenance period.
The phone system at McMaster’s David Braley Health Sciences Centre will not be impacted.
This upgrade is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to maintain a secure and reliable communications environment.
