Roam Like Home is a feature offered by Rogers that allows you to use your mobile plan’s data, talk, and text services in eligible countries for a flat daily fee, instead of paying expensive per-use roaming rates.

Here’s a quick summary of how it works:

• Automatic Activation: It’s automatically triggered on a day when you make or receive a call, send a text, or use data while in a participating country.
• Cost: You are charged a daily fee for each day you use the service (see below) There is often a maximum number of days you can be charged within a billing cycle.
• Coverage: It covers a wide range of international destinations.

This feature is designed to make it easier and more predictable to use your phone while traveling, as you avoid the risk of high, unexpected roaming bills.

The transition of all eligible corporate clients to the new plan is starting in August 2025, with changes to be reflected on the September billing run.

For Users Who Have Completed Their Contract Term: The transition to the new plan will be completed automatically, requiring no action from the user.

For Users Not Yet Migrated: Before your account can be transitioned, a review of your old plan is required. We will be reaching out to you directly to provide the option of migrating and to facilitate the payment of any outstanding balance on your previous contract

This offer is not applicable to personal employee plans. The Ontario Government’s Vendor of Record (VoR) agreement is exclusively for McMaster University accounts that are corporately paid, with invoices submitted directly to the university for payment.

McMaster University has signed a new pricing agreement with Rogers. If your mobile number was not under an existing contract, it was included in the first group of numbers migrated to this new plan on August 29th. The McMaster Telecom Team is working closely with Rogers to complete this transition.

You may have noticed new data alerts. These alerts are triggered when you reach 300 MB of data usage, which is the first tier of the new plan. It’s important to know that this is a change from the old plan, where the first tier was up to 6 GB before overage charges applied.

The new flex data rates are designed to be more flexible and affordable. Here’s a breakdown of the new pricing for the $5.50 Corporate Unlimited Voice with Flex Data plan:

• $0 for up to 300 MB
• $1 for up to 3 GB
• $5 for up to 6 GB
• $6 for unlimited data

The maximum you’ll ever be charged for data is $6, even if you use more than 6 GB. Given this low maximum rate, you can choose to ignore the data alerts. If you prefer not to receive them, you can turn them off online under “manage data notifications.”

No. The McMaster University Corporate Plan (VoR 2.0) is strictly for university-paid corporate accounts intended for business use only. This plan cannot be extended to family members or used for personal lines. Attempting to add personal or family lines to a corporate account is a violation of the agreement and will result in the account being flagged and potentially suspended or terminated by Rogers Communications.
